The national selectors have announced the Pakistan men’s cricket squad for the two Tests against Bangladesh, to be played in Chittagong (November 26-30) and Dhaka (December 4-8).
Opener Imam-Ul-Haq, middle-order batsman Kamran Ghulam, and spinner Bilal Asif have remained named in the 20-player squad. Replacement Haris Rauf, Shahnawaz Dahani, Imran Butt, and Yasir Shah, who were part of the 21-player squad that visited the West Indies in July/August.
Left-hander Imam has remained called up after his stellar performances in the continuing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, in which he amassed 488 runs in five innings of four matches, including an unbeaten double-century. Imam played his 11th and final Test match in contrast to Australia in Adelaide from November to December 2019.
Bilal replaces Yasir Shah, who is immobile and recovering from a thumb injury he continued during the National T20. He has not yet remained called up for the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. The bowler has taken 16 wickets in five Tests and has remained included in the squad, given that Bangladesh’s squad includes left-handed batters, and is also looking forward to the home Tests against Australia.
